Almasabrosa organises cha cha cha courses in Firenze.
The origins of its movements can be placed in Cuba at the beginning of the 1900s, in the period when son, danzón, rumba and mambo developed. It is a derivation of mambo, a more moderate reworking of it, in which the dancers did not pause on the slow beat but kept moving their feet in a chassé.
As for the meaning of the expression cha cha cha, it essentially represents the sound of an accompanying instrument that marked its cadence (rhythmic base) and that reproduces the rhythmic sound of the shoes on the floor when executing the triple step.
Cha cha cha spread both as music and as a dance from 1950 onwards and has become one of the most famous musical genres and one of the greatest dances of all time. It is much loved by the salsa dancers of Puerto Rico and New York, but also by those who enjoy dancing on the musical 2, such as son dancers.
In the Almasabrosa salsa courses it is introduced at the pre-advanced levels, when the musical 2 is explained. Cha cha steps and partner figures are then studied in the advanced Puerto Rican salsa courses.
During the year, specific classes (workshops) are organised.
