Almasabrosa organises Cuban salsa courses in Firenze.
The Almasabrosa Cuban salsa course teaches the basic technique of body movement and the fundamental steps that are universally used to dance salsa in the popular Cuban style. We also provide the basic elements for understanding the rhythm of the percussion and how to follow the timing within the music.
We explain the most common Cuban salsa figures and provide the technical elements that allow the man to lead and the woman to feel the lead and let herself be led.
Once the basics have been learned, we add partner figures and individual steps, while at the same time exploring some aspects of body movement, step technique and leading, in order to gain ease and fluidity of movement, confidence in leading and the ability to dance in any social setting with anyone. We then introduce the first figures of rueda de casino, which allows students to practise in a group with a very effective and enjoyable teaching method.
The teaching of salsa is then enriched with elements of Cuban rumba (Yambù, Guaguancò, Columbia) that complete the individual steps and body movement.
As the level rises, in addition to increasing the technical difficulty of the steps and figures, gradually moving towards greater refinement and originality, we progressively introduce elements typical of the academic Cuban style and of Cuban son, exploring the study of the percussion rhythm and the Clave, and learning to dance on the musical 2.
In the advanced Cuban salsa courses, alongside the evolution of steps and figures, we introduce the study of afro and the orichas.
During the year, specific classes (workshops) on gestures, pasitos and rueda are scheduled.
