Socialising, wellbeing and fun: all the good reasons to start dancing salsa and bachata with Almasabrosa in Firenze.

ALMASABROSA Latin dance company

Starting to dance Salsa and Bachata is the best choice you can make for yourself! The main reasons why you should start a salsa and bachata course

1. Meeting people and making new friends.

Salsa and bachata are partner dances born as moments of celebration and socialising, and they represent a universal language with which, simply by dancing, you can communicate with people you have never met anywhere in the world. Wherever you are, in Italy or abroad, in any venue that plays Latin music you can ask people you have never seen before to dance, share this passion with them and make new friends.

2. It’s fun and it helps you be happy.

Have you ever watched a person while they dance? You will always see them smiling, and there is only one reason: those who dance are happy because they are having fun. Dancing has no age, because every moment is the right one to be happy.

Dancing is a natural antidepressant, one of the most effective. This joy is also fuelled by the rhythm and the sounds of good Latin music that will accompany you into this wonderful world.

3. Dancing trains the body and the mind and helps you stay young.

According to the authors of a study from Illinois University, “dance represents a combined cognitive, physical and social training”; the secret of this discipline would therefore lie in its ability to combine various factors, producing a workout that is not only good for the body but also helps you socialise and stimulates the brain, because the participants are required to memorise the steps, repeat them and interpret the music.

Dance is also a very effective activity for counteracting cardiovascular disease.

4. There is always time not to dance:

It is a life experience that, whether short or long, enriches you in spirit and mind and lets you live unique and unrepeatable emotions that you can carry with you forever. Don’t put off this chance to discover a new world inside and outside yourself.

5. Dancing Salsa boosts your self-confidence.

Salsa and Bachata are partner dances, rich in individual movements. In partner dancing the man leads and the woman lets herself be guided. This dynamic allows both to increase their security and self-confidence but also to relate to and trust the other. In its gestures it gives the woman great femininity and the man the right virility, boosting the self-esteem of both, also thanks to greater confidence in controlling the movements of the body.

The advantages of starting with Almasabrosa

1.

Almasabrosa is celebration, fun, pleasure, psychophysical wellbeing, positive energy, joy, socialising, but also emotion, passion, elegance and sensuality. AlmaSabrosa means a flavourful, tasty soul, and our first goal is ….

Our first goal is fun.

To pass on the desire to dance, both to those who want to keep an amateur approach and find a group of friends with whom to share their passion for dance inside and outside the school, and to those who become passionate and seek a more demanding path.

Throughout the year we organise parties, evenings, holidays, workshops and socials.

You don’t need to sign up for classes as a couple.

Are you single, or does your partner not like dancing? So what? In the Salsa and Bachata courses enrolment is open to everyone. During the lessons, in fact, the “partner rotation” is used as a teaching tool so that you learn to dance with anyone. Those who come as a couple still have the option of staying paired up if they prefer.

2. A method.

A teaching method developed over the years with precise programmes for each phase of learning, to pass on technique and style from the basics to the most complex elements.

Thanks to the Almasabrosa method, anyone can learn to dance.

Many of our former students have taken up teaching in various other dance schools. Only some of them, however, have been trained to become Almasabrosa teachers. They continue to study with the masters and are constantly followed throughout the year to ensure uniformity in teaching technique and the adaptation of the programmes to the individual classes.

Technique is the foundation on which to build style.

3. A style.

A stylistic identity that, although constantly evolving since 1993, represents the synthesis of the best of many years of study and experience in the various types of salsa, selected according to a personal artistic taste refined over time.

Our “Sabroso” style harmoniously combines Afro-Cuban roots and Puerto Rican tradition, without giving up the study of the evolution of modern and contemporary influences.
